Ed Bergtold Bio

Ed Bergtold is a working actor in NYC who got his start at The 13th St. Rep, The John Houseman Theatre & with Tony Award Nominee, Sammy Dallas Bayes who directed him in “One Man’s War”. He is a graduate student of The Actor’s Training Institute under the tutelage of John M. Eyd and studied Stella Adler’s approach to Stanislavski, The Meisner Technique, and Strasberg’s Method. He also studied under Chazz Palminteri at One on One in NYC.

Notable film roles include principal work in Oliver Stone’s “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” and Gela Babluani’s “13”. Ed is also a mainstay in the independent film world and has had several leading and principal roles in films screened at: The Long Island Film Expo, The Edinburgh Short Film Festival, The Garden State Film Festival, The Williamsburg Film Festival, The CBGB Music and Film Festival, and The Vienna New Film Natch.

Ed made his directorial debut in his self-written film “When The Night Falls”, which was sponsored by The NY Foundation of The Arts. He can also be seen in “Behind the Mirror”, “The Burning Bride” (starring Chuck Montgomery) and “Abandoned in The Dark” (opposite Kane Hodder.

Ed also has become a Trans-Atlantic actor, playing a leading role in “Do, Something Jake!” a feature film shot on location in England. Written and director by English author James Smith and produced by Raya Films.
